The Kwara State People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has been informed by the Kwara Peace Initiative (KPI) that kidnapping and abducting opposition supporters will not help them win the 2023 governor’s race.
The FidelinfoNews gathered this was contained in a statement issued by Audu Abubakar the Public Relations Officer of the Kwara Peace Initiative, the organization attacked Tajudeen Alabi, a former special security adviser to former Senate President Bukola Saraki, for his recent efforts to suppress the public from speaking out about the failures of the PDP administration during its locust years.
“We condemn outright the attempt by the PDP leaders in the state to silence supporters of government. We are very concerned about the news that they have started abducting people who support the government and expose the rots of the past. This is unhealthy politics. Politics is not about intimidating people. Even the ruling government does not intimidate opposition the way the opposition want to be doing now. Their leaders are free to go in and out of the state and ventilate their opinions.
“Therefore, Tajudeen Alabi should be warned seriously to avoid this destructive politics he is playing in cahoots with some security officers he had known since his days as SA Security under Bukola Saraki. He has no right to arrest fellow citizen in his private car. He has no right to write petition on behalf of anybody.
“The DSS, Police and Civil Defence should be aware of this new trend of abducting people who support the government by the PDP. This is exactly what they did when the 2019 election was drawing closer. The safety of any citizen must never be jeopardize for political purposes.
“We hereby urge the security agencies to put Tajudeen Alabi in their watchlist. According to information at our disposal, he is very notorious for carrying out this barbaric action. In fact, the security agencies should thoroughly search his house to be sure he has not put anybody under siege. Finally, if anything should happen to Ahmed Shooto or anybody supporting the government, Tajudeen Alabi will be held responsible.”
