Gunmen attacked a convoy in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, yesterday; they killed four policemen, abducted a guy, and stole an undisclosed sum of money.

Fidel Info reports that On top of the freshly built Rumuokoro Flyover in the state’s Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, the thieves reportedly opened fire randomly at moving cars at around 3 o’clock.

It was discovered that the thieves had arrived earlier, hung around for their victims, and that they had carried out their operations successfully without the assistance of any counterforce.

According to an eyewitness, the incident generated panic and that the criminals absconded with the unidentified individual for whom the policemen were serving as security after shooting four police officers in the convoy.

“This afternoon, at around 3 o’clock, we heard gunfire on top of the flyover,” he claimed. “We earlier thought it was security men that were shooting because they were in military uniform.”

“The shooting continued while cars that were at the foot of the flyover have to stop. The boys killed four policemen that were escorting a big man.

“They carried money from that convoy and kidnapped the big man. After that, they entered their car and drove off.

“The State Police Public Relations Officer, Grace Iringe-Koko, who confirmed the attack, said three policemen were involved, adding that there were not many details on what transpired.
