Hon. Wasiu Bamidele, an ally of former Senate President Bukola Saraki, has dumped the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to join the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State.

Fidel Info reports that Bamidele served as a Senior Legislative Aide to Saraki when he was Senate President.

He was also a one-time Council Chairman of Isin Local Government.

The decampee announced his defection after an interactive meeting with the Mutawalli of Ilorin, Dr. Alimi AbdulRazaq and the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Inter-Party Affairs, Hon. Moshood Alaka.

Bamidele said he would mobilise his supporters to work for the re-election of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, while also promising to meet his former colleague-councillors to rally support for the Governor.

“I will contribute my quota to ensure excellent victory for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in maintaining the good tempo of the previous successes and achievements recorded in the last presidential and national assembly elections,” Bamidele said.

He urged opposition parties in Kwara State to team up with Governor AbdulRazaq and the APC to move the state forward.
