Manchester United winger Antony has been accused of “domestic violence, threat and bodily injury” by a former partner in his native Brazil.
Brazilian publication Globo Esporte is reporting that Gabriela Cavallin, who had a relationship with the 23-year-old forward in 2022, has filed a police report in Sao Paulo.
The report states that she claims to have been assaulted by Antony on May 20 – a day on which the Brazil international turned out for United in a Premier League fixture with Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.
The report also includes “photos of abrasions and threatening messages”, while Cavallin is said to have discussed previous aggressive behaviour from Antony.
Cavallin is now calling upon authorities in Brazil to take “an urgent protective measure” while further evidence in the case is gathered.
Globo Esporte further reports that Antony had a relationship with the woman in question during 2022, with Cavallin revealing on social media in June 2022 that she had suffered a miscarriage when the pair were expecting their first child.
No comment has been made by Antony, his representatives or Manchester United
Martinez makes history after coming off bench to score four goals in Serie A
Lautaro Martinez scored four goals for Inter Milan against Salernitana- as a second half substitute.
The Argentine came onto the field in the 55th minute of the game with the scores level at 0-0. The World Cup winner scored four in the next 30 minutes, as Inter eventually ran out 4-0 winners.
Martinez subsequently became the first-ever player in the Serie A to score four goals in a game as a substitute.
Inter have bounced back from their 2-1 defeat against Sassuolo on Thursday, October 27 which saw them drop points for the first time this season. Thanks to Lautaro, Inter will maintain their spot as Serie A leaders.
Inter will now play host to Benfica in the second matchday of the Champions League group stage on Tuesday, October 3.
Joachim Anderson low strike increases pressure on Erik Ten Haag as Crystal Palace defeat Man Utd
Manchester United have lost four of their opening seven games of a Premier League season for the first time after Crystal Palace won 1-0 at Old Trafford.
Erik Ten Haag’s side had looked to have turned a corner with wins against Burnley and Palace in the Carabao Cup, but Joachim Andersen’s first-half strike turned the skies gloomy again for the United boss.
The response from United in attack was limited with Sam Johnstone largely untested in front of a disgruntled home crowd.
It means Palace are now above Manchester United in the Premier League, who have taken just nine points from their first seven games. Also, Palace boss Roy Hodgson has now become the first manager to go unbeaten in five consecutive away Premier League games at Old Trafford.
Up next for Manchester United is a Champions League group stage clash against Galatasaray on Tuesday and their next Premier League clash is against Brentford on Saturday October 7 at 3pm.
Bournemouth 0-4 Arsenal: Harvetz scores first gunners goal in easy win over cherries
Kai Havertz scored his first Arsenal goal in a comfortable 4-0 Premier League win over Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.
In his 10th appearance for the Gunners since moving from Chelsea for £65m in the summer, Havertz calmly slotted home from the penalty spot to give his side a 3-0 lead minutes into the second half after Martin Odegaard had been recklessly brought down by Ryan Christie (53).
Earlier, Bukayo Saka had put Arsenal in front with a header from close range (17) before Odegaard scored a spot-kick of his own just before the break (44), while Ben White’s header in stoppage time (90+3) sealed a routine victory on the south coast.
The result sees Arsenal remain unbeaten in the Premier League so far this season with 17 points from seven games. Bournemouth remain winless and drop into the relegation zone.
Bournemouth’s next assignment is a Premier League clash with Everton at Goodison Park on October 7. The Cherries then host Wolves in the league two weeks later on October 21
Up next for Arsenal is a trip to Lens in the Champions League on Tuesday. The Gunners then return to Premier League action next Sunday when they host champions Manchester City
