The camp of ex-minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola under the aegis of the defunct The Osun Progressives (TOP) has been thrown in disarray over the claims by the convener of campaign group of Adeleke, ‘Imolean’, Engineer Kehinde Raji that they received election fund for security to assist the ambition of Governor Ademola Adeleke.

This is coming amid the allegations made by the leadership of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State that the camp of Aregbesola within the party worked for the victory of Adeleke.

Meanwhile, the caucus of Aregbesola denied the allegations stating that they voted for former governor Adegboyega Oyetola during the election.

Meanwhile, Adeleke’s campaign group convener, Kehinde Raji speaking on a private radio station, Rave FM during a Yoruba political programme, Oro Oselu monitored on Monday, disclosed that one of the strongest allies of Aregbesola, Ex-speaker of Osun State House of Assembly, Naheem Salam requested for N4 million to settle security issue on behalf of Governor Ademola Adeleke during the election.

He explained that Salam was in Abuja when he requested the money and he helped him to collect the sum and disburse them according to his directives.

Raji noted that the reports of how he disbursed the money according to the directives of Salam were made available to Governor Ademola Adeleke’s elder brother and sister, Dr Deji and Dupe Adeleke.

According to him, “ Since the commencement of the administration of Adeleke, I have never received a dime from them.

“During the election, former speaker of the House of Assembly, Najeem Salam, wanted to pay a certain amount of money on security matters which I can’t disclose here, he requested the money from Adeleke to settle them, he was in Abuja then.

“I was the one that helped him to disburse the money, all the reports were given to the governor’s elder sister, Dr Deji Adeleke and the governor himself. We did the report and gave it to them, so how much is N4 million.”

Following the revelation, members of the All Progressives Congress(APC) in Osun State have berated the camp of Aregbesola for keeping a pact with the opposition to ensure that the party is defeated during the election.

However, the ex-speaker, Najeem Salam reacting to the claim, denied Kehinde Raji and having any transaction with him during the election.

He said, “It is clear that he does not know what he is saying because I never transact any business with him. I have called him about the claim he made and he promised to tender an apology.”
