The Nigeria Police Force has said the body of fast-rising artiste Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, known as Mohbad, may be exhumed for autopsy if needed.

Series of allegations have trailed the death of the 27-year-old musician, who was said to have been bullied to death after he severed his relationship with his former record label.

Mohbad died on Tuesday after reportedly receiving injections for an ear infection and was buried in Ikorodu, Lagos on Wednesday.

On Thursday, a petition he wrote on June 25, 2023, to the police, alleging a threat to his life by one Samlarry and others, went viral.

Reacting to the controversies, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson of the Lagos state police command, said the corpse of Mohbad would be exhumed to aid the investigation if need be.

In an interview with media personality Daddy Freeze, SP Hundeyin said the command would leave no stone unturned while investigating Mohbad’s death.

“The Force PRO issued a statement this evening saying an investigation would commence. And that is what we are going to do.

“If need be, the body would be exhumed. It’s not too late. The body can be exhumed. An autopsy can be performed,” SP Hundeyin said.

Police Will Look Into Alleged Negligence Of MohBad’s Petition Against Sam Larry – FPRO

Published

on

The Police Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, has said the force will look into the petition made by the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba aka MohBad against music promoter Samson Balogun, aka Sam Larry.

A petition written by late MohBad over an alleged threat to life by Sam Larry and others, surfaced online days after the singer’s death.

The petition alleged that Sam Larry and 15 others stormed a video shoot where the deceased and another artiste, Zlatan Ibile, were working, and wreaked havoc.

Sharing a copy of the petition on his X page on Tuesday, the FPRO tweeted, “We will look into the alleged police negligence on this case.”

The Lagos Annex, Force Criminal Investigation Department of the Nigeria Police Force, Zone 2, Alagbon, to whom the letter was addressed, had revealed that it had invited Sam Larry and others, following the receipt of the June 27 petition, but MohBad was absent.

Commenting on this claim, Adejobi added, “We also need to know why he declined the invitation or appearance at the office. So many things to find out and clarify. And all will be done.”

MohBad’s death was announced on Tuesday, September 12. He was 27.
