The Everton and England mieldfielder Dele Alli is still waiting for his first appearance of the season, but coach Sean Dyche says he is still in a “good place” mentally.

The 27-year-old’s last competitive appearance was in a Super Lig clash for Besiktas in February before suffering a muscle injury and while on loan with the Turkish side.

He has since returned to Everton but is not yet fit enough to return to Premier League action, but Dyche suggested he is making progress despite his frustration.

“Dele still has some time to go,” Dyche said at a press conference. “He’s just back on the grass now but he’s in a good place. I had a chat with him the other day and he’s in a good place, other than his injury, of course, which he is frustrated by.”

The midfielder will watch on from the sidelines as the Toffees host Brighton in the Premier League on Saturday
