Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, the Emir of Kano, has assured that he will keep embracing activities that will enhance peace between the North, the South-East and all the regions in Nigeria.

The Emir made the statement while speaking at the recent unveiling of the Peace in South-East Project (PISE-P) in Bende Local Government Area of Abia State.

The deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu championed the initiative, and it seeks a non-kinetic method in resolving the security problems in the country’s Southeastern region.

“Today, as we celebrate the attainment of Deputy Speaker Benjamin Okezie Kalu to a greater height, we are reminded of the importance of maintaining peaceful coexistence between the North and the East and indeed all regions of our great country; we must continue to foster dialogue, diplomacy, mutual respect, understanding, and collaboration, transcending tribal differences for the collective prosperity of our motherland,” he said.

The Emir urged the deputy speaker to use the platform to help people experiencing poverty, adding that it would assist in reducing their economic challenges.

He also prayed to God to sustain the unity and peace among the citizens of Nigeria.

He said: “We call upon the Deputy Speaker to utilize his esteemed position to advocate for the upliftment of the poor and the less privileged in our society. Times are hard, and people are increasingly finding it difficult to fend for themselves and take care of their families.

“Your leadership presents an opportunity to champion initiatives that will address the pressing needs of your people and promote inclusive development across Nigeria. We encourage you and all other elected representatives to set up foundations and endowments to give back to society, especially in the areas of education, skill acquisition and entrepreneurship. This will go a long way in cushioning the effects of the harsh economic situation being experienced by many ordinary Nigerians today.

“As a matter of significance beyond celebrating our achievements, let us not relent in prayer, seeking peace, divine guidance and prosperity for our beloved nation. May we continue to work together, guided by the noble principles of justice, compassion, equity and unity, as we strive to build a brighter future for all Nigerians.

“We congratulate the Deputy speaker once again; we wish you more blessings and more success and wish to assure you that, by the special grace of God almighty, your best is yet to come.”
