Mr Safiyanu Isah Andaha, the kidnapped Chairman of Akwanga Local Government Council in Nasarawa State, and three other persons kidnapped by bandits have been released after paying N10 million ransom.
FidelInfo had reported that Isah and his friend, Adamu Custom, were abducted by gunmen along the Akwanga-Andaha road on Monday night.
An ally of the council chair, who pleaded anonymity, said that all the victims were left behind an old filling station on Bayan Dutse road on the outskirts of Andaha town.
He said: “They were released on Tuesday night around 9 pm behind a filling station on Bayan Dutse road, and the sum of N10 million was paid as ransom.”
He, however, said that he listened to the chairman sharing his bitter experience with one of his friends, how the kidnappers maltreated him and other victims in the bush.
