Nigerian singer David Adeleke, famously known as Davido, has said it is in his daily prayer points to win a Grammy Award.
Davido revealed this in a recent interview with GQ.
He said: “Everybody knows what one of my prayer points is now. I have been nominated for three Grammys. So, everybody knows what I am praying for every day I wake up.”
FidelInfo reported that the Afrobeat was nominated in three categories at the 2024 Grammys.
In the Best Global Music Album category, his album ‘Timeless’ was nominated. Also, in the Best African Music Performance and Best Global Music Performance, ‘Unavailable’ and ‘Feel’ were nominated.
Artists Davido will compete in the ‘Best Global Music Performance’ with include Silvana Estrada, Burna Boy and Arooj Aftab, Béla Fleck, Falu and Gaurav Shah.
He will also be in the ‘Best Global Music Album’ category; he will face the likes of Shakti, Burna Boy, Susana Baca, and Bokante.
The artists he will contest with in the Best African Music Performance category, include Asake, Burna Boy, Ayra Starr, and South Africa’s Tyla.
