JUST IN: Fuad Laguda picks APC ticket in race to fill Gbaja’s rep seat

Fuad Kayode Laguda has been declared winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary for the Surulere 1 seat in the house of representatives.

Laguda is expected to replace Femi Gbajabiamila, former speaker of the house, who represented the Lagos constituency before his appointment as Chief of Staff (CoS) to President Bola Tinubu.

In the election, which held at the Teslim Balogun stadium on Saturday, Laguda defeated other contestants to clinch the party ticket for the forthcoming election in the constituency.

The nationwide by-election into vacant political offices is slated for February 3.

Laguda defeated Kabir Lawal, Jamila Omobolanle and Abdul Raheem Owokoniran, to nick the ticket. He secured all the thirty votes of the delegates that voted in the election, while other aspirants received none.

The election was conducted by a five-member committee chaired by Buba Yusuf, while Dapo Lam-Adesina served as secretary
