The Chief of Staff to Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State, Chidi Amadi, has resigned.

The Commissioner of Information and Communications, Joseph Johnson, on Wednesday, confirmed his resignation.

Amadi is a loyalist of Nyesom Wike, the former governor of Rivers and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Johnson said at the appropriate time, the governor would announce a new Chief of Staff.

He said: “The former Chief of Staff, Hon. Chidi Amadi, has resigned. The governor will announce another Chief of Staff at the appropriate time.

“It is the prerogative of the governor to appoint when he wants it. He will tell us, and we will announce it, and you will also get the release to that effect.”

Adding Amadi’s recent resignation, Wike’s loyalists who left Fubara’s administration are not 10.
