Katsina university confirms abduction of two female students

The management of Al Qalam University, Katsina, has confirmed the kidnap of two female students of the institution, adding that the abduction took place on Monday.

According to a statement released by Akilu A. Atiku, the head of public affairs of the institution, the parents of the victims had confirmed the kidnap. The statement also stated that details regarding the circumstances of the kidnap were still scanty because it happened outside the university.

Professor Nasiru Musa Yauri, the vice-chancellor of the university, in the statement, said he stands with the family of the abducted students in this challenging situation, asking God for their freedom.

The students were on a commercial vehicle from Niger State to Katsina State to resume academic activities at the university when they were abducted on Monday.
