Kwara State House of Assembly has passed into law a 2024 budget of N292.7.
The 2024 budget was passed after the Hon. Arinola Fatimah Lawal-chaired House Committee on Finance and Appropriation at the Committee of Supply was considered during today’s plenary.
This is contrary to the N296.4 billion presented to the House by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, representing a 1.25 percent decrease.
In the passed Appropriation Bill, total Capital Expenditure is at N180.2 billion, contrary to the N178.905 billion initially proposed by the executive.
Also, recurrent expenditure is 113.836, contrary to the 116.43 presented by the Governor.
Hon. Rt. Yakubu Salihu Danladi, the Speaker of the House, said he was hopeful that the budget of economic expansion and collective prosperity would positively impact the people’s lives.
The Speaker extolled Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to ensure the January to December budget cycle, as adopted by the Nigerian Governors Forum, bears accelerated implementation.
Speaker Danladi, therefore, directed Alhaji Abdul-Kareem Olayiwola Ahmed, the Clerk of the House, to prepare a clean copy of the Appropriation Bill for the Governor’s assent.
