Soldiers barricade INEC headquarters in Jos amid re-run elections

Soldiers, on Saturday morning, barricaded the entrance to the Independent National Electoral Commission headquarters in Jos, the capital of Plateau State, over the ongoing re-run elections in the state.

It was reported that a heavy military presence was witnessed at the premises of the INEC building, with armed soldiers blocking the gates.

Remember that on Thursday, INEC began the distribution of sensitive electoral materials in the six Local Government Areas of Plateau state ahead of today’s re-rerun polls.

INEC distributed the electoral materials on the premises of the Central Bank of Nigeria in Jos.

The representatives of political parties, observers, journalists, and security personnel witnessed the distribution.

Accreditation and voting have begun in the run-off election for State Constituency 2 in the Yenagoa LGA of Bayelsa State.
