APC chieftain dies after referee awarded South Africa penalty against Super Eagles

Cairo Ojuogboh, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), died while watching the Super Eagles against South Africa on Wednesday, February 7.

A family source said the former lawmaker died on Wednesday night while watching the AFCON 2023 semi-final match between Nigeria and South Africa, which ended in a penalty shootout.

Ojuogboh was said to have collapsed after South Africa was awarded a penalty at the Stade de la Paix in Bouake.

Until his death, he was a former Executive Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
