Suspected operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) were reported to have launched a midnight operation at the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Ondo State.

They were said to have invaded students’ lodges at about 2 am.

Some students have reported on their social media pages that the EFCC men broke into their rooms and arrested some students.

A viral social media video shows forced attempt entry as broken window frames from we’re seen.

J Brandy, a social media user, wrote, “I thought they said EFCC should not raid at night again. This hostel (Celebrity Lodge, FUTA ) is right behind mine. When will this endemic? EFCC (officials) moving like thieves at night!”

A man in an EFCC jacket was spotted in one of the videos being circulated online.

Ola Olukoyede, the EFCC Boss, had ordered the stoppage of sting operations at midnight.

The EFCC chairman gave the directive after the arrest of suspected internet fraudsters in Ile-Ife, Osun State, by operatives of the EFCC, which stirred nationwide outrage.
