The Nigerian Association of Road Transport Owners (NARTO) has suspended its planned nationwide strike after a meeting with the Federal Government and stakeholders on Monday, February 19, 2024.

The suspended strike was planned in response to the harsh economic conditions affecting tanker drivers, who had stopped operations and refused to transport petroleum products.

Members of NARTO had threatened a countrywide shutdown beginning Monday as a result of the exorbitant cost of automotive gas oil (diesel), which is important for fueling their trucks used in transporting petroleum products across the country.
