JUST IN: LP national chairman Julius Abure arrested for fraud

The Nigeria Police Force has reportedly arrested Julius Abure, the national chairman of the Labour Party (LP), for fraud.

Abure was arrested in Benin, Edo State, southern Nigeria.

An investigative journalist popularly known as PIDOMNIGERIA posted on his verified X, formerly his Twitter page that the Police arrested Julius Abure for fraud and other financial crimes.

He wrote: “Breaking News!! Breaking News!! The criminal Labour Party, @NgLabour national chairman Julius Abure @Julius_Abure, has been arrested by the Nigerian Police @PoliceNG for fraud and other financial crimes today in Benin, Edo state.”

The arrest of the LP National Chairman comes a week after the National Working Committee of the Labour Party suspended the National Treasurer, Oluchi Opara, for six months.
