The Kwara State chapter of the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC) has cancelled the planned nationwide protest scheduled for February 27 and 28, respectively, saying the government is addressing the issues of hardship in the country.

The leadership of TUC announced the cancellation of the union strike in a statement addressed to its members across the state.

The statement reads:

Dear Comrades.

Hardship Protest: TUC will not Protest

Fraternity Greetings,

This is to inform all members and affiliates that TUC will not be part of the proposed hardship protest in Kwara State.

All members and affiliates are, by this notice, enjoined not to participate. The National Headquarters are working assiduously with relevant authorities to address all concerns, and further information will be communicated soon.

Thank you.

God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
