The Special Adviser to Governor Ademola Adeleke on Special Needs, Kamil Aransi, has described the successful passage of Osun State Discrimination Against Persons with Disabilities (Prohibition) Bill 2024 as a better approach to assist the government and People With Disabilities, PWDs, in their journey of inclusion.

Aransi, while appreciating Adeyemi Adewumi, the lawmaker representing Obokun State Constituency, for sponsoring the bill, also stated that the bill would not only secure the welfare, health and education of every person with disability in the state but also protect their rights.

According to Aransi, “The Disability Prohibition Bill would give equal rights to participation in decision-making and persons with disabilities would be able to contribute their quota to the growth and development of the state.”

Aransi also disclosed that Governor Adeleke would be eager to sign the bill into law, set up the bureau, and allow it to function for the public good.

FIDELINFO had reported on Tuesday that the Osun State House of Assembly had passed the Osun State Discrimination Against Persons with Disabilities Prohibition Bill into law.

The bill was passed into law during plenary of the Osun State House of Assembly, presided over by the Speaker, Adewale Egbedun, on Tuesday.
