Four individuals, including two police officers and two officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps, have been reportedly killed by gunmen who stormed the Orba and Eha-Alumona communities in the Nsukka and Udenu local government areas of Enugu State.

This medium gathered that the attack occurred hardly 24 hours after two police officers on a stop-and-search operation were attacked and killed by gunmen in the state metropolis, less than a kilometre from the Government House.

During the attack that claimed the lives of many, including the police officers and FRSC officials, this medium learnt that it began from the Premier junction at Eha-Alumona in the Nsukka LGA and proceeded to the Army Checkpoint at Orba community in Udenu LGA around 4 pm on Saturday.

It was reported that other police officers and FRSC officials at the scene of the attack escaped with varying degrees of injury as the gunmen set ablaze a van belonging to the road safety officials and a Hilux van said to belong to the traditional ruler of Egali Amalla Community in Udenu LGA, Patrick Eze, aka Igwe Waziri.

When PUNCH contacted Kanayo Uzuegbu, the state Commissioner of Police, for a reaction, he said, “I am not aware of the incident. Please contact the Police Public Relations Officer on that.”
