There is palpable tension in Kano as the reinstated Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II is expected to lead the two rakat congregational Friday prayers today at the Emir’s palace Friday mosque.

This was noted in a statement by Danburan of Kano on Thursday evening.

Danburan of Kano invites residents to listen to the sermon to be delivered by Sanusi.

Similarly, another statement from an aide of the dethroned 15th Emir Aminu Ado Bayero invites residents to join him at the emir’s palace Friday mosque to observe the Jumu’at prayer.

It said that the residents could start coming to the emir’s palace mosque at 12.30 pm.

However, the police authorities have not commented on the development to prevent a breakdown of law and order.

Efforts to contact SP Abdullahi Haruna, the Public Relations Officer of the Kano Police Command, failed as his mobile phone number was not going through.
