No fewer than 50 members of the House of Representatives from different political parties were in Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital, on Sunday, in a show of solidarity with Governor Siminalayi Fubara for his first year in office commemoration.

Fubara had last month started a 20-day program of events and activities to celebrate his one year in office.

Some of the lawmakers on the visit were Hon Ikenga Ugochinyere, Afam Ogene, Sagir Koki, Obi Aguocha, Philip Agbese, Maureen Gwacham, Midala Usman, Clement Jimbo, and Aliyu Mustapha.

Hon Ugochinyere who spoke on behalf of the lawmakers, said: “Governor Fubara has recorded great achievements in the areas of good governance, restoration and maintenance of peace and unity, and provision of massive infrastructural projects for economic prosperity in Rivers State one year after he assumed office.

“Evidence of that was seen in the 20-day program of events and activities to celebrate his first year in office, with the inauguration of the 10.9-kilometre Aleto-Ogale-Ebubu-Eteo section of the old Port Harcourt–Bori road, Elele-Umudioga-Egbeda-Ubimini-Ikiri-Omoku 31 km road; commissioning of the Emohua-Terma road, commissioning of Egbeda Internal roads project in Emohua Local Government Area, commissioning of phase 1 of Port Harcourt Electrical Village and flag off of Phase 2 and so many others.

“These are very massive projects which so many administrations had deliberately skipped from reaching the masses. But from the way the governor is going, you will understand there are other good things to come. We commend him and he will always have our support.”
