Fuel Scarcity: KWSG Gives Order To Expose Fuel Dealers Who hoard Products

The Kwara State Government has given a marching order to the Department of Petroleum Resources to expose fuel dealers who are hoarding products thereby causing panic buying and unnecessary hardship on motorist.

 

The State Commissioner of Business Innovation and Enterprise Hajia Arinola Lawal in a meeting with the DPR sounded that the state government is not happy with the long queues in filling stations and the panic over scarcity of fuel in the state.

 

Hajia Lawal reiterated the commitment of the current administration in ensuring a conducive and meaningful life for Kwarans, to enable them benefit from dividend of democracy.

 

She also sought for stronger collaboration between the DPR and the State government in monitoring the activities of the petroleum products to motorists and other users.

 

Hajia Arinola reminded the DPR to also checkmate the outright increase in the price of gas in order to encourage citizens to utilize cooking gas and to avoid deforestation or bush burning in the state through the use of charcoal.

 

The Commissioner enjoined the DPR to invoke their authority to deal with erring dealers who hoard products and deliberately lock up their entrances against motorists.

 

The DPR operation controller Alhaji Aminu-musa Bala disclosed in his statement that the dealers only hoard it for their own selfish gains.

 

Alhaji Aminu-Musa also informed the state government of the on-going concerted efforts to make domestic gas available for the public.

 

Similarly, Omowumi-Ilorin Multipurpose Co-operative Union Limited congratulated the commissioner for her appointment and assured her their readiness to contribute their quota to the development of the state.

 

The commissioner also commended the efforts of the union for coming at this period of time for a visit.

 

She enjoined the union to be transparent and to work within two years of syndrome.

 

The association now solicited the State government support through provision of soft loans to their Member.
