Burna Boy Tops Billboard’s Year-End U.S. Afrobeats Artists Chart

Nigerian music sensation Burna Boy has clinched the No. 1 spot on the prestigious Billboard Year-End U.S. Afrobeats Artists Chart, reaffirming his global influence in the music industry.

The Grammy-winning artist, Damini Ogulu, has once again demonstrated his musical prowess, securing the top position on this acclaimed chart.

Following closely behind Burna Boy, Rema, the ‘Calm Down’ crooner, claimed the second spot, while the talented Tems, Cameroonian diva Libianca, and the internationally acclaimed Wizkid secured the third, fourth, and fifth positions, respectively.

The rest of the top 10 on the chart includes Ayra Starr, CKay, Asake, Davido, and Oxlade, all of whom have made significant contributions to the vibrant Afrobeats scene.

In tandem with the artists’ rankings, Billboard also unveiled its Year-End U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart, where Rema’s ‘Calm Down’ remix featuring Selena Gomez soared to the top position. Libianca’s ‘People’ and Tems’ ‘Free Mind’ claimed the second and third spots, showcasing the diversity of Afrobeats influence.

Wizkid’s collaboration with Tems and Justin Bieber on ‘Essence,’ as well as Burna Boy’s ‘Last Last,’ rounded off the top 5 on the Afrobeats Songs chart.

Moreover, Rema’s ‘Calm Down’ secured another significant achievement by topping Billboard’s 2023 Pop Airplay & Rhythmic Airplay year-end chart. The track also earned the sixth position on the Hot 100 Year-End 2023 chart, further solidifying Rema’s widespread appeal across various music genres.
