The Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (JAMB) has made a disturbing discovery, uncovering more than 3,000 people falsely claiming to be university graduates despite never attending university.

According to Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, the JAMB Registrar, these fake graduates result from endemic corruption in the system. The JAMB boss made this revelation during a meeting with the leadership of the Committee of Pro-Chancellors of State Universities (COPSUN).

The board has recorded these cases and is working to address the issue of illegal admissions in tertiary institutions, which Prof Oloyede described as an “embarrassment and disservice to the nation.”

This discovery calls for increased vigilance and accountability in the education sector to prevent fraudulent activities and ensure the integrity of university degrees.
