JUST IN: Makinde presents 28 buses to tertiary institutions, students body in Oyo State

The executive governor of Oyo State, Engr Seyi Makinde has fulfilled his promise by presenting 28 brand new eighteen-seater buses to students of tertiary institution across campuses and students bodies in Oyo State

The donation of these buses marks a significant milestone in the governor’s commitment to improving transportation and access to education in the state. This initiative comes as a fulfillment of Governor Makinde’s promise made during the campaign period to provide buses to the students

Hon Victor Olojede, the senior special assistance to the governor on students affairs commended Governor Makinde for his remarkable achievement, describing it as unprecedented in the history of Nigeria. He emphasized that no governor has ever undertaken such a massive gesture of donating 28 buses to tertiary institution and students body simultaneously

Olojede also appealed to the governor to address other pressing issues affecting students, such as bursary payment, urging prompt attention to ensure the welfare and academic success of students across the state. He expressed gratitude to governor Makinde for his payment of bursary to law students in the students, setting a precedence for good governance and students support

The presentation took place at the premises of Oyo State Government Secretariat in Agodi, Ibadan and was attended by the dignitaries including Deputy Governor Barr Bayo Lawal; the speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Debo Ogundoyin; the deputy Chief of Staff Hon Fola Oyekunle; Secretary to the State Government and other government functionaries. Also present were the Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Hon Wasilat Adegoke, SSA students affairs, Hon Victor Olojede among others.
