The Chief of Staff to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Tayo Ayinde, has withdrawn the legal action against Chief Gani Adams, the Aare Onakakanfo of Yorubaland.

Ayinde’s decision to withdraw the lawsuit was contained in a letter by Adeyinka Olumide-Fusika (SAN), his lawyer, wherein he stated the reasons for the action.

“Kindly assure your client that my client appreciates that the public office he holds and his conduct in it is liable to scrutiny and criticisms by any and every member of the public that feels ill-served by any act or commission or omission by him in that office.

“While he will not hold anyone in grudge for exercising that right, it is his reasonable expectation that anyone doing so abides by truth and fairness of public interest,” he said.

Responding to the development, Iba Gani Adams, in another letter by Oluwole Kehinde, his lawyer, dated 27 March, said Ayinde’s decision to drop his claim against Iba Gani Adams was well-noted and valued.

Recall that the CoS and Iba Adams had engaged in a legal dispute over a controversial audio voice note allegedly released to the media by the Sunday Adeyemo, Yoruba nation activist, also known as Igboho, which, according to Adams, had been distorted to tarnish his image.
