The President Bola Tinubu-led Federal Government has declared April 7 as National Police Day.

This was revealed by Vice President Shettima on Monday night in Abuja during the maiden award and commendations event organized by the police force.

The VP delivering Tinubu’s speech titled, “Courage Under Fire: A Bouquet for Our Police Force,” emphasized that despite Nigeria facing several security challenges, the resilience of its citizens stems from the unwavering dedication of the police force.

“He underscored his administration’s commitment to modernize and professionalize the Nigeria Police Force, aligning it with the nation’s values and aspirations.

“Among the extensive reforms implemented are investments in training and capacity-building, aimed at equipping officers with the necessary skills and expertise to tackle contemporary policing challenges effectively.”

Shettima also said the government would upgrade the equipment and technology to bolster the operational efficiency and effectiveness of the force.
