Kwara Govt Approves Relocation of 15MVA, 33/11KV Power Transformer to SOBI Sub-injection Station

In its efforts to restore uninterrupted electricity supply and improve the living standards of residents in Sobi communities and its environs, the Kwara State Government has approved the relocation of a 15MVA, 33/11KV power transformer at Budo-Esho to Sobi Sub-Injection Station in Ilorin, the State capital.

The Commissioner for Energy, Engr. AbdulAzeez Kola AbdulGaniy said this in a statement issued today in his office.

The Commissioner explained that the State Government’s approval of the relocation of one 15MVA, 33/11KVA, 33/11KV power transformer from Budo-Esho substation to replace the 1 x 7.5 MVA, 33/11KV at Sobi substation is aimed at improving the living standard and socioeconomic growth of its residents.

He disclosed that “This power transformer will serve Sobi Barracks, Gambari, Okelele, Sefura, Kankatu, Alagbado, Sobi mountain and its environs.”

While appreciating Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his remarkable efforts at creating stable power supply for citizens, Engr. AbdulGaniy commended the Management of the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) for providing the facility and working to improve the supply of electricity in Kwara State.
