Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has named Rt. Hon. Edison Ehie, former Speaker of the State House of Assembly, as his Chief of Staff. The close association between Fubara and Ehie is evident, as Ehie steps into the role, succeeding Hon. Chidi Amadi.

Ehie’s appointment follows his resignation on Sunday night from the positions of Speaker and representative for Ahoada-East Constituency 2 in the Rivers State House of Assembly. This decision has stirred curiosity regarding Ehie’s political intentions.

It’s noteworthy that a recent peace meeting, orchestrated by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, endorsed Rt. Hon. Martins Amaewhule as the House Speaker. However, there was no provision mandating Ehie to vacate his seat as a House member, leaving room for speculation
