A Real Madrid star has turned down the chance to join Manchester United this summer, forcing the Red Devils to consider other options.

With Anthony Martial set to leave Manchester United this summer, the club is looking to sign a couple of forwards to improve their attacking options.

Several targets are currently being considered, including Real Madrid loanee Joselu, who was recently revealed to be on their list.

The 34-year-old striker is on loan at Real Madrid from Espanyol and has had a surprisingly good season.

Joselu was initially thought to have only joined Real Madrid as a squad player, but he has been given numerous opportunities at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Across all competitions, the forward has 14 goals and three assists. While Manchester United appear to be interested in the veteran forward, they have suffered a setback in their pursuit.

According to reports in Spain (as cited by Sport Bible), Joselu is expected to reject any offers from Manchester United because he wants to stay at Real Madrid.

The Spanish giants do have the option of purchasing the 34-year-old at the end of the season for €1.5 million, which appears to be a real possibility given his impressive form
