Kwara Govt, UN Women, NGO CSW set to host event Promoting STEM Education for Gender Equality in New York

The Kwara State Government, in partnership with the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) and the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women), is set to host a groundbreaking event titled “STEM Education as a Catalyst to Accelerate Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women and Girls in Kwara State by Kwara State Government.”

The event, spearheaded by the Office of the Special Adviser on Education, Dr Adetola Ariyike Salau underscores the commitment of the Kwara State Government to address gender disparities in education and promote inclusivity in STEM fields.

Scheduled for March 20, 2024, from 1PM to 3PM, the event aims to highlight the pivotal role of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education in advancing gender equality and empowering women and girls in Kwara State, Nigeria.

The event will take place at the Conference Room, 12 East 49th Street, 06-226A, New York, providing a platform for policymakers, educators, advocates, and stakeholders to exchange ideas, share best practices, and explore strategies to enhance access to quality STEM education for women and girls in Kwara State.

With a focus on leveraging education as a tool for social and economic empowerment, the collaboration between the Kwara State Government, CSW, and UN Women signifies a significant step towards fostering gender equality and sustainable development in the region.

Participants can anticipate insightful discussions, keynote addresses, and interactive sessions aimed at fostering collaboration and driving meaningful change in promoting STEM education and gender equality in Kwara State.
