The Nigeria Labour Congress invaded the Labour Party (LP) headquarters on Wednesday to protest the party’s planned national convention, which is scheduled for the end of this month.

The labour union also demanded the sack of Julius Abure, the National Chairman of the party.

The NLC leadership alleged Mr Abure of planning to organise a ‘secret’ convention without the contributions of major stakeholders.

The planned convention has caused controversy among Abure, the NLC and the House of Representatives caucus.

NLC said Abure was planning to destroy the Labour Party.

The Nigeria Police Force has stopped the protesting workers from entering the party Secretariat by the Nigeria Police Force.
