Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has revoked media reports that his administration allocated N6bn for the Ramadan Feeding Programme.

The governor disclosed his position in a statement on his X handle on Sunday.

Yusuf wrote, “Over the past few days, I’ve observed heightened media speculations about our government purportedly budgeting the sum of N6bn for the Ramadan Feeding Programme.

“I wish to categorically state that the actual amount for the programme is the sum of N1.97bn for the whole month.

“I also counsel the media to ensure that they get their figures regarding our projects from the proper sources without giving credence to speculative figures.”

On Friday, the Kano governor voiced his dismay regarding the current state of the feeding programme in the State’s metropolis.

Governor Yusuf expressed his disappointment during an unscheduled inspection of a feeding centre in Gidan Maza, Municipal Local Government Area.

Yusuf latched the programme handlers for what he perceived as their failure to serve the intended beneficiaries adequately.
