OSUN: NYCN dissociate from Kangaroo Caretaker Committee, warn members against distractors

The attention of the National Youth Council of Nigeria,Osun State under the leadership of Com. Ajala Adetunji David has been drawn to a press statement on a Kangaroo local government Caretaker Committee, it is disheartening that some element who are bent on causing confusion in the youth constituency are not giving up hiding under the ministry of youth to perpetrate unconstitutional and unlawful act.

The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) Osun State wishes to clarify and refute the assertions made in a paid news release as false ,illegal and misleading .

In the statement released by the Public Relation Officer of the Association Com Hassan Rafiu, he said “it is imperative to emphasize that one Oyeniyi Mojeed has been paraded himself as the Chairman Caretaker Committee of the NYCN Osun State Chapter when we have duly elected Chairman Comr. Ajala Adetunji through the congress held at Moremi Hall on April 16th, 2023, with the support of the State government and Governor Senator Nurudeen Ademola Jackson Adeleke as represented by Mr. Sadipe Adekunle, the Chairman youth advisory committee then with the supervision of the Ministry of Youth affairs in the state.

On this note we urge the general public to dissociate from the supposedly caretaker chairman and his so called members as they’re trying to create chaos in the State.

The claim that he had inaugurated a member across the local government in the state on behalf of NYCN Osun State Chapter is entirely false and misleading. Such assertions are baseless and lack any credibility. It is evident that the kangaroo caretaker is attempting to manipulate the narrative to suit their personal agenda.

“We reiterate our stance that the National Youth Council of Nigeria Osun State did not partner with any one, those behind this move are using the name of the council to make themselves popular

We also need to let the public know that those behind the crisis at the youth council did not belong to any affiliated organisations.

All Voluntary Youth Organisations across the 30 local government areas are enjoyed to maintain peace.

He stressed further that Comrade Ajala Adetunji David remains the substantive and authentic chairman of NYCN Osun State Chapter.

We implore the ministry of youth affairs saddles with a supervisory role to ensure these kangaroos do not continue to be promoted and work towards returning peace to the youth constituency in the state.

He (Mojeed Oyeniyi) must cease and desist from parading himself as caretaker chairman, failure to comply will result in legal action to be taken against him.

Furthermore, we urge the public to disregard any statements or actions made by one mojeed in any capacity as Chairman Caretaker of the NYCN Osun State Chapter as fake as he is not traceable to any registered and affiliated youth organisations in the state.

The Youth Council shall remain committed to be law abiding and maintain our integrity within the NYCN Osun State Chapter. We will continue to work diligently towards the advancement and empowerment of the youth in our dear state.
