Sobi Specialist Hospital has taken delivery of a 50KVA Solar Inverter to power most of the hospital units.

The Governor was said to have equally approved the installation of an additional 25KVA solar inverter largely for uninterrupted service delivery in the maternity, accident, and emergency wards.

Dr. Abdulraheem Malik, Executive Secretary of Kwara State Hospitals Management Board, who led the board’s management on an inspection of the solar system, said the solar inverter is presently being tested and will bring much relief to both staff and patients. He added that plans are also in progress to light up the entire Sobi Hospital premises.

Governor AbdulRazaq was reported to have also endorsed the provision of an alternative source of power supply in the form of solar inverter as recommended by the management of Kwara State Hospitals Management board so all government hospitals can have 24-hours uninterrupted power supply to deliver service to patients.

Scheduled for installation are Lafiagi, Kaiama, Patigi, Okuta, Ilesa-Baruba, Yashikira and Sobi Specialist.

Recall that those that got it last year were Igbaja, Lade, and Centre Igboro’s emergency unit.
