JUST IN: Gunmen abduct council chairman in Nasarawa

Mr Safiyanu Iss Andaha, the Council Chairman Of Akwanga Local Government Area of Nasarawa state, has been reportedly kidnapped by gunmen.

Mr Haruna Kassimu, the Special Adviser to the Nasarawa State Governor on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, confirming the incident, said Safiyanu Isa was kidnapped at Ningo village on the Akwanga – Andaha road in the Akwanga Local government area around 8:30 pm of January 1, 2024.

One Alhaji Adamu Custom was also kidnapped at the same time. 

Kassimu said that security agencies had responded to the issue and are currently chasing after the kidnappers.
