Police arrest 42-year-old man for allegedly raping nine-year-old daughter

The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested Auwul Shaibu, a 42-year-old man, for allegedly raping his nine-year-old daughter in the Kabak Mubi South Local Government Area of the state.

According to a report, the incident occurred on March 12, and Shaibu was arrested following a report filed by Asmau Isa, his wife, who raised the alarm about the incident.

Yahaya Suleiman, the state Police Public Relations Officer, has confirmed the incident to PUNCH correspondent.

He said, “I am aware of the incident. He is currently in custody for raping his daughter, and she is a minor. The complaints were made by the mother of the daughter, who happens to be the man’s wife.

“On March 12, 2024, the Adamawa State Police Command arrested a 42-year-old man for raping his nine-year-old biological daughter. The incidents occurred in the Kabak Mubi South Local Government Area on March 11, 2024.”

The police spokesperson also said that during the inquiry, Shaibu confessed to the crime and disclosed that narcotics and excessive alcohol were the causes of it.

He said, “During the course of the investigation, the suspect confessed to committing the offence but blamed it on taking too much alcohol and drugs.

“The Commissioner of Police, Adamawa State Command, CP Dankombo Morris, directs a diligent investigation and prosecution of the suspect upon completion of the investigation.”
