Securities mounted the entrance and premises of the Federal High Court Osogbo, where Governor Ademola Adeleke’s ally, Olalekan Oyeyemi, is standing trial for killing and terrorism.

FidelInfo reports Oyeyemi was dragged before the court on a ten-count charge of terrorism and killing members of All Progressives Congress (APC) by the Inspector General of Police. He was remanded in Ife Correctional Facility after pleading not guilty.

The counsel to Oyeyemi, Edmund Biriomoni, an appointee of Adeleke, had filed a formal bail application on seven grounds, which the prosecution counsel, Francis Osie, opposed based on Sections 162 and 165 of the Administration of Criminal Justice 2015.

Justice Emmanuel Ayoola, the presiding judge, adjourned the ruling on bail to today.

On March 19, 2024, which was the last hearing of the case, three journalists were held hostage in court by hoodlums offended by the reportage of the happening.

Nine armed policemen later rescued the journalists from the court premises.
