Amotekun arrested security guard for stealing air conditioners in Osun

The Osun Amotekun Corps on Friday said it arrested a 25-year-old man who works as a private security guard for allegedly stealing nine air conditioners in Osogbo.

According to a statement released by the corps Commander, Brig-Gen. Bashir Adewinmbi (retd.), the suspect named Micheal Eze is from Ebonyi State who allegedly arrested for stolen air conditioners and sell it to scrap buyers in Osogbo, Osun State Capital

“The suspect was arrested on Monday after the owners of the house suspected the missing of the air conditioners, he was engaged to guard in GRA, Osogbo, reported to Amotekun that their air conditioners had been stolen.

“After he was arrested, he confessed to having stolen and sold the air conditioners for N5000 per one to scrap buyers in Osogbo, the air conditioners worth N400,000 each,

“The suspect also confessed that this is not his first time of stealing his employer’s property,” Adewinmbi said

The commander of Amotekun in Osun said two of the air conditioners he sold were recovered from their buyers.

The suspect had been handed over to the Director of State Security Service for subsequent interrogation and prosecution.

He urged members of the public to work with security agents to get rid the state from crime and criminal activities by providing vital information that will help the corps nip crime in the stat
