Troops neutralize seven suspected terrorists in Sokoto

No fewer than seven suspected terrorists have been neutralized in Sokoto State by Nigerian Army troops deployed for Counter-terrorism operations in the North West region in conjunction with a team from the Department of State Services (DSS).

It was in a swift and coordinated effort to prevent a potential disaster from saving lives in Sokoto State as the troops responded to a distress call, which led to the interception of an armed terrorist group on a rampage to wreak havoc in Modachi general area of Issa Local Government Area of Sokoto State.

The joint operation resulted in the killing of some of the terrorists and the recovery of weapons.

The terrorists, who were in transit with many motorbikes, were met with strong resistance from the security forces, leading to the killing of 7 terrorists.

The troops equally recovered Seven AK-47 rifles, four motorbikes, two mobile phones, and four machetes.

The successful operation was a confirmation of the dedication of the security forces to combating terrorism and restoring peace in troubled regions.

The swift and decisive response by the troops and the DSS team undoubtedly stalled a potential danger and saved several lives in Sokoto.
